I’ve been trying to reconcile two aspects of my work lately that don’t seem to quite align: the more comic-influenced ink work and a more painterly style I’ve used mostly on game art. Whenever I use only one of the two I feel like I’m missing something. Luckily, after several attempts that won’t see the light of day, I’ve come across a suitable (though very time-consuming at the moment) process. This is the kind of experiment you can only pull on personal work, and I’m really grateful for having a bit more time to do it lately.
