The last to say farewell

This is a very personal piece I made for my portfolio and also for myself. I played with transparencies and also with lost edges and contrast to direct the viewer’s eye and make it easier to convey the emotion and the story in the artwork.

As with most of my personal pieces, I wrote a short text to accompany it:
“Just when she was leaving, she stopped to say goodbye to her loyal friend. I know because I heard him cry while I was holding her hand. And I also know that, rid of all pain, her soul went back to who she really was. And now she’s in a heaven filled with books.”
