Dog portrait – Millie, the German Shorthaired Pointer

I was hired by a friend to do a drawing for his daughter of her dog, Millie.
I have been working on this technique of drawing with charcoal on toned paper and adding the highlights in with white conte. The paper has a nice texture and it allows me to faithfully show the texture of the dog’s coat. The final size was 8″ X 10″
