Snootober sighthound portraits

During the month of October, I participated in a new drawing challenge called Snootober, dedicated to a specific group of dogs – sighthounds – and to those who adore them.

As some of you might know the Inktober drawing challenge & Snootober challenge are very similar, with the difference in theme, prompts and its openness to all mediums and techniques. Each day of the month a sighthound related prompt is given. Most of these prompts are the sighthound breeds themselves or other related terms like lure, hunt, aloof, or snoot. I decided to involve my followers and supporters of my art in this challenge and give them a chance to get their own dogs painted by me. I chose my dog models for each day from those who showed interest and then offered them the ability to obtain these portraits for a special price.

It was a great challenge that pushed me to further develop my techniques and helped me to become more efficient because of the short daily turnarounds of one portrait per day. This challenge was also a great success between my followers who expressed their joy of looking forward to a new artwork each day. I hope I get a chance to participate again this year. Veronika is very talented and is professional in her communication. From the very beginning she made me feel understood and was a genuine pleasure to work with. Her execution of the idea and project was better than I could have imagined ever myself! I can't recommend working with her strongly enough without it sounding over the top... but that's precisely how I feel about the finished work I received from her- over the top thrilled with the final work.
