Roughly two years ago I began working with the band Goose to create some album art. We started with art for their singles which were released between 2019 and 2020. Each of the singles featured art of a character, and from the outset the plan was to have all of the characters from the singles “meet” in a scene for the EP album art. After some discussion and sketches, we landed on the idea of a bonfire in the woods. We thought that would be a fitting place for all these different characters to gather. In fact, before I started on any of the artwork for the singles, I sketched out a rough version of the final album art you see in this post. Doing this allowed me to make sure that all of the posing and positioning of the characters in the singles would work once I needed to combine all of them into one scene.
The EP released in late 2020 following the release of the last single. Then, last week, after a number of requests, I made a limited edition art print available (125) for sale on my Inprnt shop! There are three sizes to choose from: 8″ x 8″ | 12″ x 12″ | 24″ x 24″. So far the response has been incredible, but there are still 50/125 prints available, at the time of this writing. To be clear, this is not 125 of each available size. Rather this is 125 total print sales. So once 50 more of them sell, the print will no longer be available.
The art that I created for this project, especially for the EP, was a different kind of image than I’m used to creating, but I had a lot of fun with it. I’m very happy with how the finals turned out and I’m glad I got to experiment with some different techniques! Goose was also excellent to work with!
If you want to get a print before they sell out, follow this link.
I also highly suggest giving the Night Lights EP a listen, along with Goose’s other music, on their Spotify.
