Ashworth Laboratories – Art installation
Posted 5 days ago and submitted by Alexander Naughton | Share link:

I was commissioned by The University of Edinburgh to create a series of large-scale illustrations celebrating the work and ongoing research at Ashworth Laboratories. The artwork depicts eight research disciplines practiced at Ashworth and they are displayed in the main entrance hall of the building.

I have taken a fairly literal visual approach with these illustrations because we wanted to include as many representative organisms as possible and avoid any obvious scientific misinterpretation. As such, the illustrations are not intended to be read as scientific representations but more as a celebration of the scientific work carried out at Ashworth Laboratories.

You can see more of the artwork I created over on my website.
