In the past few months, I’ve taken a mentorship with artist Donato Giancola – it was a great opportunity to push my work in new directions and reflect on my artistic choices! I feel like I now have enough food for thought to last a whole year! Taking a class on top of my current freelance work also meant extra work, so I’m very much looking forward to the Holidays

This is one of the personal paintings I created for this class: “Recalling the Past”, following a Magic: the Gathering-inspired prompt he gave us. Of course, I jumped on the opportunity to depict a spellcaster and glowing, colourful magic! Playing with these iridescent colours was fun, as always.
