Every once in a while, you feel good about yourself when you utilize your skills to console people. Good friends of mine recently lost their beloved dog, Augie. Every year they sent out invitations to celebrate his birthday, which I was privileged to be a part of accompanied by my dog. Augie and Herc scurried among the guests enjoying the wine and plates of food from the bountiful buffet. Anne and Tom’s loss struck a chord in me since my dog is declining, and I will someday be experiencing the same sorrow. Therefore, I commemorate Augie with my painting to my bereaved friends entitled “The many faces of Augie.”
