Darker art has always held a significant place in my body of work. I would never consider myself to be a dark person (quite the opposite), but I think something about creating this type of work has somewhat of a cathartic effect for me. Bizarre, surreal, scary work serves to get out some unpleasant esoteric emotions. It also tends to lend itself well to certain genres I enjoy working in such as art for metal bands.

What I envisioned for this character is a singer who laments the loss of their ability to sing.

I spent a lot of time searching for "the right artist" to help me with the artwork for my new music CD and got lucky when I came across Ben's site! I was impressed by his portfolio and the variety of work which demonstrated strong technical skills and versatility. Working with Ben on this project has been a great experience - he's so easy to work with, has a really positive attitude and is keen on helping the client materialize the artistic vision. Ben delivered exactly what I had in mind and it was a lot of fun to see him take my brief descriptions and converge on what I wanted.
