I made this manga portrait commission for one of my private clients. Her briefing:

“I would like a manga style portrait for my daughter who will turn 18 in February. She likes Japan and K-Pop. She’s edgy, sexy, smart and tough and I would like to show that in the portrait. I would like to see my daughter as a sexy power girl with a Japanese sword. I also think it would be nice if she wears her own clothes, a yellow top & a checkered skirt. And her two piercings!”

I decided to work in a manga- and popart kind of style. I used a strong line art & bright and vibrant colors. The name of the girl is Rose, so I also included some rose petals in the portrait as well. She loves to read difficult books, such as the manifest of Karl Marx, so I added some of these personal details as well.
