Personal Piece – “Que me muevan las olas”
Posted 8 months ago and submitted by Benjamin Davis | Share link:

My newest digital painting. I recently left my full time job of 6 years to travel and spend more time on my art. While talking to friends about taking this leap I would often be told that they can’t wait to see what kind of art my adventures inspire. I was thinking about this while sitting and sketching on the beach in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I was trying to “be inspired.” After a little while of doodling and wracking my brain about what I should be drawing, I starting looking around me and combining features of the ocean into my sketches. Before leaving I met another group of travelers that I ended up spending a few days with before they left. This piece is a combination of elements of that beach sketch, a portrait of one of those travelers, and other details inspired by the time we spent together.

I spent a lot of time searching for "the right artist" to help me with the artwork for my new music CD and got lucky when I came across Ben's site! I was impressed by his portfolio and the variety of work which demonstrated strong technical skills and versatility. Working with Ben on this project has been a great experience - he's so easy to work with, has a really positive attitude and is keen on helping the client materialize the artistic vision. Ben delivered exactly what I had in mind and it was a lot of fun to see him take my brief descriptions and converge on what I wanted.
