I’ve been working on my coastal wildlife alphabet, this time going from I to P. Sometimes finding things that begin with each letter can be tricky, but I think by being immersed in the environment I’ve been able to pick up on different features that help to give a bigger impression of the whole landscape.
Admittedly, there will be two letters in this alphabet that I will not produce illustrations for as there is nothing that begins with them! X and Z are always tricky. Although I do have an idea for Z, I’m not sure if it would be useful to include it. For now, I have another eight letters and illustrations to get through. I like producing these kinds of illustrations because I don’t often work with text as much as I should, and I think it’s useful to see how my work looks with typography. (They are not actually typed – I used a set of printing blocks to create the playfully uneven typewriter effect.)
Illustrations A-H are shown below, for the full effect (so far anyway!)
