The Original Celebrity Chef

This is my latest editorial illustration for the Mayfarer Magazine, to accompany an article all about the first celebrity chef Marguerite Patten. She was a famous chef in the post-war years and even sold out the London Palladium on 12 occasions with her live cookery performances! To exaggerate the theatrical side of her shows I’ve illustrated some of her elaborate desserts being presented by a troupe of dancing girls!

Vicky is friendly and creative, and her style is bright, fun and very eye-catching. Working in stages from rough concept to finished art, she was open to feedback and willing to accommodate amends and a couple of extras along the way. It was an absolute pleasure working with her and hope I get the opportunity again in the near future.
