My Spring Design Fling at Slate Run Metro Park
Posted 8 months ago and submitted by Leslie Harrington | Share link:

I have great friends in Ohio who periodically send me contests to enter for the Columbus Metro Park system. “Hey, enter the winter hike mug contest, enter this/that park T shirt design contest…” I think the good natured pestering has gone on for years! I never have time because there is real life work to be done and deadlines to meet!

A few weeks ago, another text. “The submission design deadline for Slate Run has been extended!” Fine. On one particularly rainy dreary Sunday afternoon I busted out a design and sent it in. I found out yesterday that my design won! It’s for a good cause. Growing up in Columbus, my friends and I would always go hang out our closest metro park. It was an oasis within a city-woods, bike trails, play areas, ponds and nice rangers who would give talks about wildlife. I hope the design sells well for them. I think this means my friends will stop bugging me now too. Maybe.
