The Cat with Twenty Toes!

Having worked with author Tony Lovitt in the past and loved his professionalism and dedication to quality books for children, I was eager to take on his new project; “The Cat with Twenty Toes!”

The Cat With Twenty Toes is written for children ages 3-10, and celebrates physical differences and promotes diversity through the use of fun, rhyming verse and colourful, whimsical illustrations featuring a metaphorical, polydactyl cat named Sookie.

The book is dedicated to the author’s brother, Sgt. Brad Lovitt (1961-2020), a 30-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department, whose own pet cat inspired the book. Brad succumbed to cancer in 2020 and the author will donate $1 from the sale of each book to the Sgt. Brad Lee Lovitt Memorial Page to benefit City of Hope, the cancer-research hospital where Sgt. Lovitt was treated and spent his final days.

I donated 50% of my fees for illustrating this book to the fund.

"Izzy Bean illustrated my new children's book. The characters are lively and fun and full of life. She was easy to work with and listened to all of my requests. The book is beautiful because Izzy's illustrations are exactly what it needed."
