Mustn’t Bumble – Bee Illustrations for Mayfarer Magazine

I’ve recently created a brand new illustration for the Mayfarer Magazine to accompany an article on the plight of pollinators and about modern beekeeping in London. There are now so many urban beehives it’s causing problems for wild bees as there’s not enough food to go around. However, some beekeepers are moving their hives further out of the city. It’s in the Summer issue. I created it in a slightly different method to my usual style as I created the collage within Photoshop, cutting out all the pieces of textured paper on the computer rather than by hand.

Vicky is friendly and creative, and her style is bright, fun and very eye-catching. Working in stages from rough concept to finished art, she was open to feedback and willing to accommodate amends and a couple of extras along the way. It was an absolute pleasure working with her and hope I get the opportunity again in the near future.
