Personal work is crucial

These images are fillers in between paid projects. They are the funnest work I get to do. Right now I’m putting together a pitch for a children’s book. Doing these passion projects is much harder and interesting, because I have to make all the decisions. But I do believe personal projects improve an artist’s taste, which I believe is important in improving skill as well. These are all projects that I just wanted to do, they’re not all in the same style or medium, but for me, I like trying out new things so I push beyond what I’m comfortable doing.
