I recently finished a crystal pattern I had been working on sporadically for a few years (hard to believe it took that long!). Some projects are like that. Sometimes I have a vision for an illustration that takes a new up-leveling of my art skills – I’ll come up against a creative block when I attempt to execute the vision, and usually have to put it aside for awhile when this happens. Then I revisit it when the impulse is sparked, and I have that aha moment that shows me how to finish the piece. And sometimes it takes so long because of other client work. The timeline for this one was a combo of both!
I am very happy this one made it to the finish line. I’m proud of the end result, and the annoying personal growth that went into it too. “Crystal Explosion” is available as a print on my website, and will be turning into wallpaper soon through Robin Sprong!
