“All malls are haunted. Trust me.”
I have another piece I’d like to talk with you all about! This is an illustration that comes from a long series of one off illustrations that I like doing when I have an idea for a comic or one shot. Whenever I have an idea for a comic, but am not sure if I want to fully commit, I will draw an illustration of the series. One reason, so I don’t forget the feelings I want to convey in the story, and the other, is to sort of focus test it with how well the illustration sells.
So far, this piece sells relatively well when people ask about the story. It’s at least enough to warrant going back and drawing the one shot. When I draw the one shot, will be probably next year. I have two series ahead of it (Muses and Zodiac), then on top of that I want to get back into the sticker/merch game, but other than that I have no plans for more prints to be made until 2024 when I start redrawing old designs.
As for the plot to this one! Underworld Arcade involves the story of a girl who, while skipping class stumbles onto a haunted arcade in an abandoned mall. She’s trapped in the mall until she can put the ghost in the arcade to sleep by beating their game. It’s simple, and I hope to have a lot of fun figuring out the game they play and how to draw it in a fun and interesting manner.
Thanks and I’ll see y’all in the next one!
