Literary Mural – The Catholic High School, Chester

I worked alongside the staff and students at The Catholic High School, Chester, to create a literary mural. The mural is situated just outside the amazing school library overlooking a wildflower garden. The students and their teacher Mr Wilson composed a list of characters and elements from various books including The Gilded Ones, The Heartstopper Boys, 1984 and Northern Lights. I created a composition and then we set to work on the mural. The students played a pivotal role in painting this enormous mural and were absolutely amazing – as were the staff. We also added a fun twist to certain parts of the mural, for example, Shakespeare and The Mad Hatter having a cup of tea together and Lyra from Northern Lights trying to catch the Golden Snitch. The mural is packed with lots of little details and quirky elements, so that each time anyone looks at the mural they spot something new.
