‘The Fates’ – Part of an Illustration Series on New England Witchcraft

Having been raised in New England, my favorite Halloween aesthetic is that of the colonial-era witch. Though most accused witches in these New England villages were not practicing witchcraft, I decided to create an illustration series depicting what Puritans thought and feared the witches among them were doing. In this illustration, “The Fates”, three witches use a poppet to attack a neighbor.
