New Kids’ Book About Inclusivity and Friendship – Out Today!
Posted 2 months ago and submitted by Laura Watson | Share link:

Out today from Scholastic Canada, and written by Karen Autio, I Can, Too! is a wonderful story of new friendship between two children with diverse abilities, that shines a much-needed spotlight on kids who use special gear to navigate the world. The challenge as an illustrator was learning about how all the adaptive equipment the main character uses actually works – and depicting it in a way that would make sense to other children who use it. It was a true collaboration with the author, who also consulted on the equipment, and was inspired to write the book by her daughter, who was born with spina bifida. Available in bookstores and online today!
