Character Concept for Indie Board Game

This was a fun commission for an indie board game developer. The character was described to me as a gnome ranger-tinkerer, and a gunslinger type that wields a hand crossbow instead of a gun. They suggested the actor Sam Elliot as reference for how the face should look. This illustrator was used as concept art while still in the playtest phase of development. His name is Finn!

I spent a lot of time searching for "the right artist" to help me with the artwork for my new music CD and got lucky when I came across Ben's site! I was impressed by his portfolio and the variety of work which demonstrated strong technical skills and versatility. Working with Ben on this project has been a great experience - he's so easy to work with, has a really positive attitude and is keen on helping the client materialize the artistic vision. Ben delivered exactly what I had in mind and it was a lot of fun to see him take my brief descriptions and converge on what I wanted.
