I'm an illustrator and designer from Cardiff, who has a keen eye for character design and lettering. Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1984, but have lived in Cardiff since an early age and still do with my lovely wife and two adorable cats. My inspiration is largely drawn from growing up in the 80s, where a childhood obsession with cartoon characters, video games and children’s books paved the way for my career as a designer. Characters have always excited me. As a child, if I wasn’t playing with a Ninja Turtle action figure, I'd be drawing monsters on my bedroom wall or playing Super Mario on my treasured NES. I'm happy to report that I haven't outgrown this obsession and still regularly enjoy all of the above! Having graduated in 2008 in Product Design, I found that my heart was still looking for a career in drawing fun lovable illustrations. I landed myself a job at one of the UK’s top greeting card publishers and this gave me the opportunity to shape and hone my drawing potential. After gaining invaluable experience, I proceeded to look into work as a freelance illustrator, where I have found success and happiness in this lifestyle. Specialising in greetings cards for the majority of my professional career, I'm looking to turn my hand to picture books and really let my imagination fly!
